Selmer SA80 - Tenor Saxophon

Ich verkaufe hiermit ein Selmer SA80 Serie 1 Tenor, in sehr gutem Zustand von 1983 / Seriennummer: 343***

Ich habe es in meiner Werkstatt in Berlin - Wedding mit hochwertigen Materialien generalüberholt.

Es wurde komplett zerlegt, gereinigt, neu geölt, mit neuen Korken, Filzen und Kangaroopolster mit Kunststoffresonatoren von Claripad, Foag gepolstert. Ich verwende für die Polsterung ausschliesslich hochwertigen Schellack. Nach einigen Tests und einspielen des Instruments sitzt die Polsterung perfekt und sollte für viele Jahre seinen Dienst tun. Ich habe nun 2 Jahre Erfahrung mit genannten Polstern, die ich für meine Kunden verwende, und kann eine sehr gute Qualität, Widerstandsfähigkeit und Verlässlichkeit feststellen, wenn ich die Instrumente meiner Kunden warte.

Das Instrument ist eher auf der dunklen Seite im Durchschnitt der Tenöre dieser Baureihe. Die unteren Mitten sind präsent, zusätzlich weist es einen kernigen und eleganten Ton auf, ohne in den Höhen zu dominieren, was man bei guten Exemplaren dieser Baureihe vorfindet und diese auszeichnet.

Die Intonation ist bekanntermassen bei diesen Instrumenten hervorragend.

Insgesamt ein sehr wertiges, ausgezeichnet verarbeitetes, verlässliches Instrument, welches sich sehr gut warten und pflegen lässt, robust gebaut, jedoch nicht klobig, und sich für die unterschiedlichsten Musikrichtungen einsetzen lässt.

I am selling a Selmer SA80 Series 1 Tenor, in very good condition from 1983 / Serialnumber: 343***

I overhauled it in my workshop in Berlin - Wedding with high quality materials and re-adjusted it.

It has been completely dismantled, cleaned, freshly oiled and fitted with new corks, felts and kangaroo pads with plastic resonators from Claripad, Foag/Germany and exchanged some of the blue hardened steeI springs. I only use high-quality shellac for the padding, as much as needed to embed the pads with efficiency. After a while of testplaying and resting, the padding fits perfectly and should do its job for many years. I now have 2 years of experience with these pads that I use for all my customers since 2022, and I can see very good quality, durability and reliability when I service my customers' instruments and get them back to the workshop.

The instrument is on the darker side of the average tenor in this series. The lower mids are present, and it also has a pithy and elegant tone without dominating the trebles, which is found in good examples of this series and which characterizes them, if you're the lucky owner of for example this one.

The intonation of these instruments is known to be excellent.

All in all, a very high-quality, excellently crafted, reliable instrument that is very easy to maintain and care for, robustly built but not bulky, and can be used for a wide variety of musical styles.
